Creating visibility for your brand in times of crisis

From having to practice social distancing and getting used to life without the outdoors to continually washing our hands and wearing masks, the Coronavirus pandemic is something none of us expected.

Businesses, economies and every one aren’t exempted.

A lot of entrepreneurs especially those who sell products, are perplexed about how they can still market their products despite the lockdown. This piece is for you.

  1. Don’t stop creating visibility for your brand

During a conversation with a friend who sells shoes, I pointed this out to him. Yes, it may not make sense to you to keep advertising your product when people are in a lockdown, but this shouldn’t stop you from marketing your products.

Your marketing isn’t for immediate patronage, it’s to create awareness and maintain top of the mind position in the minds of your customers/ clients.

Have you wondered why some Nigerian entertainers are still creating content on social media, going live on Instagram? It is because they want to maintain relevance and top spot in the minds of their fans. You are sowing a seed , you will reap if you stay consistent.

2.      Offer educational based training

Now is the time to educate your customers and clients on some vital aspects of the problem you help them solve. It is called educational based marketing. Whatever business you are in, you can use this period to educate your customers.

Educational based marketing is the sharing of knowledge with the aim of building trust. It is a strategy that establishes credibility and trust with your customers by using educational messages. Furthermore, today’s consumer won’t to do business with people they don’t trust . In order for them to trust you they need to be guaranteed they are dealing with the right person who has their best interests in mind.

For example, if you sell shoes, you can share daily shoe care tips to your customers. After Covid-19 we will still go back to wearing shoes. This is not the end of the world.

  1. Deliver superior content

There has been an increase in internet usage during this period because a lot of people either work from home or at home…bored . It’s an opportunity for you to provide uplifting or informative content to people. The businesses who didn’t stop marketing during COVID-19 will reap the benefits POST COVID-19. This is the time for you to get creative with your content.
