KENNIS PLACE #40 GAME CHANGERS series is our own transformation project aimed at inspiring young Nigerians to be epitome of enterprise, diligence and integrity. It took us over 3 weeks to compile this list and it’s by no means exhaustive. There are countless young Nigerians who also deserve to be on this list. The selected 40 serves as a model to others.
We hope you not only become inspired by their profiles, but also create a yearning in you to be a light in the midst of gloom. We present to you in no particular order, Kennis Place #Gamechangers 40
1. ADENIKE AKINSEMOLU
Adenike A. Akinsemolu is a purpose driven Lecturer at Adeyemi College of Education and the Director of Sciences at Homaj Schools, Ondo. She is also the initiator of the Green Campus Initiative. Akinsemolu is currently a Doctoral Candidate of Microbiology at the Federal University of Technology. Akinsemolu is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative University and the American Society of Microbiology.
If Olamide were to be a president, his country will be called Baddo Republic. From a humble background the talented rapper and singer has grown to become one of the biggest artistes in Nigeria at the moment. With loads of albums sold and huge endorsement deals with Etisalat, Guinness and Sure Bet, Olamide is most a game changer in his own right. Olamide is the CEO of YBNL which has been instrumental to the success of Lil Kesh and Adekunle Gold.
3. TOYIN LAWANI
Toyin undoubtedly is a reflection of her profession. She is an audacious entrepreneur that cannot be put in a box. She is popular for her work as a celebrity stylist and being the boss at Tiannah Styling Company. Toyin runs more than one business. From TiannahStyling (a styling company), Tiannah Styling Fashion Academy, Tiannah Styling Music Video Production, Tiannah’s Travel and Tours, and her very own skincare line, Tiannahs Glow Products. When you think of a wonder woman , look in her direction.
Ekene Ijemba a.k.a Humblesmith is no doubt the rave of the moment and you won’t be wrong calling him that. The Ebonyi State born Afro-pop singer broke into the Nigerian music industry with his brilliant highlife song Osinachi. Since then, he has continued to wow his fans with his brand of music. He recently became the brand ambassador for Tummy Tummy noodles
5. TIM GODFREY
One word comes to mind when you want to describe Tim Godfrey, unconventional. Tim Godfrey and his musical group have successfully produced three albums; a choir album and two worship albums (‘iWorship and ‘The Audience of One), made several tours around and outside the country and participated in hundreds of concerts. The group have bagged a number of awards including the AMEN Award, The Nigerian Music Award (NMA) among others. He alongside his grouped staged a live concert titled Fearless featuring Bishop Marvin Sapp which was a massive success.
6. KOME ESE OAIKHIENA
Beautiful Kome is a blend of exquisiteness and brains. She is the co-owner of Pot-A-Soup Catering Enterprise. She has successfully positioned Pot-A-Soup as one of the pioneers in bespoke home cooking and delivery in Nigeria. Kome has also offered independent business development and strategy services to Nester Errand Runners Ltd, ARED Ltd (Rwanda), Elevator App Development Ltd (UK) amongst others.
- ESTHER IJEWERE KALEJAIYE
Esther’s is a visionary social entrepreneur driven by the mission to be a solution to the problems she is passionate about solving .She is the initiator of Celebrities Walk Against Rape, Project Capable, Rubies Ink Media and editor in chief of Women of rubies. She has been honoured for her humanitarian projects by several organizations .This year she clinched the Christian Woman in Media Award organized by Wise Women Awards and also the Young Person of the Year Award
8. PETER PRANCE
Peter Prance is the creative director of Pprance Klodin, a Nigerian fashion brand committed to the production of high quality customized T-shirts, tailored to fit shirts, traditional attires, cooperate and creative suits of international standards. Peter Prance has been able to style notable celebs like Yaw, Lolo1 of Wazobia Fm, Elenu, and Mc Shakara amongst others. His unique designs set him apart as a game changer in the Nigerian fashion industry.
9. HELEN OZOR
Helen Ozor is the CEO and publisher of Helen’s Event Blog, a platform that has showcased notable events, generated publicity for several individuals and corporate organizations in Nigeria. Helen is widely known for being a trailblazer in event blogging in Nigeria and has held her head up high despite challenges in the industry. Helen has been nominated for several awards and has also won the Gidi Youth Awards for Blog of the Year.
10. TOKE MAKINWA
Toke has built an enviable following for her media platforms and expertise. The fashion forward diva is an OAP, Vlogger and style icon. Her sense of fashion has earned her a place as one of Nigeria’s female fashion icons. Toke’s strong social media presence has made her a magnet for brand endorsements. The tale of her humble beginnings is undoubtedly an inspiration.
11. JOHN OBIDI
John Obidi is a driven youngster who is known as an online business coach and speaker. He helps professionals achieve authority Status in 90 days or less, using social media. He is also the founder of SmartBcamp.com, a community dedicated to closing the knowledge gap among working professionals in Nigeria.
12. EMEKA NOBIS
Emeka Nobis a passionate writer and thought leader. As a writer, he wields literary pieces to lead readers on path of self-realization with a goal to make them exceptional leaders in whatever endeavors they find themselves. He is the author of Unchurched and The Profound Life. As a trained SAGE, he utilizes effective coaching models to aid individuals and organizations reengineer their paradigms thereby creating optimal cultures for success. 13. ODULOYE OMOWUNMI ADEDAYO
Omowunmi of Wumy cakes and confectioneries is a professional baker with unflinching love and passion for confectionery with numerous courses home and abroad on both English and French pastries from basic through advance sugar crafts and desserts. Wunmi’s expertise is second to none. She also doubles as an On -air personality
14. MOFOLUSADE SONAIKE
Mofolusade Sonaike popularly referred to as the Mumpreneur is an animated gift consultant, blogger, on air-personality and entrepreneurship advocate. She has a background in chemical engineering from the University of Lagos with work experience spanning 4years in the IT, Banking and Manufacturing sectors. She exited the corporate world in 2010 to start her business when she established Trezorlandia Limited, a gift consulting business. Her experiences with this transition have led her to become a strong voice for entrepreneurs in Nigeria. She is an associate member of the institute of entrepreneurs, Nigeria, the national association of small and medium scale enterprises.
15. RAQUEL JACOBS
Like a phoenix, Raquel Jacobs is rising from the ashes of adversity and inspiring others to do so through her story. Her dream is to help children get quality access to education. At a point in her life, completing her education became a huge task. She lost her dad at the age of 16 and became an orphan at the age of 19.This beautiful damsel sold “Zobo” on the streets of Lagos, slept in Cyber Cafes and uncomfortable places. Today, she is a social entrepreneur who runs four initiatives. They include Beyond the classroom, Club 31, AfriAspire and Purple Squirrel Company.

With experience that cuts across five organizations of renown in Nigeria, Jimi has the necessary knowledge and skills to give your career a boost. With a strong passion to help people achieve their potential, he is your go-to man when you think your career needs a lift. 17. AYENI ADEKUNLE
Ayeni Adekunle is different things to different people. Though, he describes himself as a stammerer, failed microbiologist, failed musician and failed author, he is one of the most influential young entrepreneurs in the Nigerian PR space. To some, he is a respected Public Relations practitioner and journalist with a CV boasting stints at places like The Punch, National Encomium, Hip Hop World, Thisday and The Africa Report amongst many. To others, he is a successful entrepreneur who runs his own PR agency and an entertainment web-zine.
With a goal-driven mindset and a will backed by the forces of heaven Ayobami broke into the realm he wanted converting himself from the common A.Y to the enviable “Mr. Porsche”. Mr. Porsche changed his ideology, the ideology changed his name and now his name is changing the face of the entire media game. He is a media entrepreneur, founder of the Porsche Classy website and a sought after motivational speaker
19. BLESSING EFFIOM EGBE
Blessing is a game changer in Nigeria’s movie industry. She has initiated several successful projects that has added value to the growth of Nollywood. She also doubles as the CEO of B’Concepts Network Productions. Her production company has produced movies and series like Lekki Wives, This Thing Called Marriage and One Room.
20. WANA UDOBANG
Wana is a multimedia journalist, writer and filmmaker. She has worked as a freelance features producer and presenter for the BBC Radio4, BBC world service and Resonance FM. She has been a freelance writer and contributor for Aljazeera Online, Guardian UK, NEXT, BellaNaija and the Huffington Post. In 2016 she was long listed for the One World Media award in the Women’s rights in Africa award category, for her story on the Mirabel rape crisis Centre for Aljazeera. Wana worked as a radio presenter and producer at 92.3 Inspiration FM in Lagos, Nigeria for over six years and hosts the television show Airtel Touching Lives.
21. SEUN AYENI
Perhaps some people come into this world armed with multiple abilities; Seun Ayeni belongs to that league. He is a result oriented Integrated Marketing Communications Professional who has consistently delivered sustainable financial gains by leveraging top notch marketing solutions and innovative branding strategies. He is also a health safety and environment specialist, certified training needs analyst and the initiator of BizzyBodyng. Amazingly, he also holds the ace as the helmsman at Lumiere Multimedia
22. DAMI OLUWATOYINBO
Damilola Oluwatoyinbo is a dynamic speaker, insightful writer, personal-transformation expert, spiritual leader and corporate trainer. His mission is to empower his generation to maximize their strengths, unlock their true glory, and lead purposeful and impactful lives. He is the author three books who believe that global reformation starts with personal transformation. He recently returned to Lagos, Nigeria to raise a generation of Kingdom Influencers after spending three and a half years in the United Kingdom.
23. STEPH OBI
Steph Obi helps women entrepreneurs and speakers to build profitable businesses online. Her company, ST HUB Limited is largely focused on Online Marketing, Online Branding, and Online Business strategies. She founded an Online Business School, Steph B-School to equip people with the skills they need to start and grow a successful business online. She is also the founder of the Facebook group, Steph B- School.
24. MATTHEW ADEDOYIN
Matthew ‘Femi-Adedoyin is a polymath and a blend of gifts. He is a sought after abstinence advocate, a dynamic and prolific teacher. Matthew is a certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Master Results and Performance Consultant, Family Life Therapist and Child Psychologist whose forte lies in Sex Therapy and Psychology of vision.
Steve Onu a k.a Yaw is undoubtedly a game changer in the entertainment industry. The Theatre Arts graduate of the Lagos State University has warmed his way into the hearts of many listeners both in Lagos and the neighboring states as a result of his unique delivery on radio. Yaw is an actor, comedian, on air- personality and entertainment entrepreneur. The award- winning showbiz practitioner has been instrumental to the success of several personalities in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
26. FALZ THE BHAD GUY
Folarin Falana better known as Falz is a talented rapper and comedian whose exceptional style of humor has made him one of the most sought after entertainers In Nigeria. In 2011 Falz released a single titled “Waz Up Guy” before he went on to release “High Class” and “Currency” which gained him grounds in the Nigerian music industry. In 2016, Falz won “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards for his role as Segun in Funke Akindele’s TV series Jenifa’s Diary. This year, he was voted the winner of the “Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act” category at the 2016 BET Awards.
27. AGBOLADE OMOWOLE
Agbolade Omowole is a visionary technology researcher, life coach and businessman. He is a contributing writer at the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies and a member of the Christian Trans-humanist Association. He is the founder of Nigeria ICT Fest, whose goal is to bridge the technology gap between Nigeria and the developed world. He believes that the only way Nigeria and other developing nations in Africa can catch-up with the developed world is by leveraging emerging technologies.
28. KEHINDE BANKOLE
Fondly called Kenny Banks, Kehinde Bankole is a brilliant actress, model and television host. With many years of experience in the Nigerian movie industry under her belt, she stole the hearts of many with her breakaway performance in the award winning October 1 movie. In recent times she has featured in movies like Lasgidi Corps, Wives on strike, 8 Bars and a Clef amongst others. Her commitment to improving herself and giving her best with each work has surely paid off for Kehinde as she won the award for Best Actress in the 2015 edition of the AMVCA.
29. ADESUA ETOMI
Adesua Etomi made a name for herself with the stellar role she played in Knocking on Heavens Door. Her fascinating performance as the abused Debbie announced Adesua Etomi as one to watch. In August 2015, she joined the cast of MTV’s HIV/AIDS edutainment series Shuga 4 as Sheila and in October 2015, Adesua Etomi was unveiled as a cast member of a Crime and Investigative drama series titled Special Crimes Unit: Las Gidi Corps which was released in February 2016.This year, she clinched the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Best Actress In A Drama Award.
30. ADENIKE ADEDOKUN
Adenike Adedokun is a relationship and sexuality coach that helps singles create solutions to their failing relationships. Iyabo Ojo is an award-winning actress, movie producer and entrepreneur.She is known for excellent role interpretations and unique delivery. In 2015, she released her block buster movie titled Silence which further added more feathers to her cap. She is also the producer of movies like Black Val and Beyond Disability.She empowers rising movie stars through her Fespris Movie Academy.
33. ABIODUN MABADEJE
ABIODUN MABADEJE is multi-talented. His experience in the arts spans over a period of two decades. He also doubles as a public/motivational speaker per excellence who understands stage and audience dynamics and can hold his own anytime. He is a faculty member and facilitator at the prestigious Headstone Speakers’ Academy (HSA) in Lagos, Nigeria and the founder and principal trainer at Public Speaking Academy (PSA), a presentation/public speaking training outfit. Azubuike Chibuzo Nelson better known as Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper and singer. He is famous for rapping in the Igbo language, with lyrics that appeal to his fans. 35. TOSIN AJIBADE
Olorisupergal is one name that most will recognize. She is the founder of Olorisupergal and also a seasoned Digital Media professional. She has expanded her brand on many frontiers and now co-produces a digital travel hub, Travel Story Africa. Tosin is also the convener of the New Media Conference. She recently celebrated the 6th year anniversary of the OSG. She is an example of consistency, diligence and hard work.
36. LAOLU GBENJO
Laolu Gbenjo is an inspiring and melodic gospel artiste. The singing sensation has carved a niche for himself as a singer with passion and depth. The So beautiful crooner has performed alongside the likes of Ibitayo Jeje, Tim Godfrey, Sammie Okposo and others. He also doubles as the CEO of Pleasant Sounds Entertainment.
37. PEACE HYDE
Peace Hyde has undoubtedly become one of the strong forces in Africa’s media landscape. The 31 years old amazon holds a 1st class degree in Psychology, a Masters in Communication and Digital Media and a second Masters in Journalism. Peace Hyde is the CEO of Aim Higher Consulting an organization responsible for developing policies and systems for some of the top international schools in Africa to help them improve learning and teaching whiles incorporating innovative solutions to promote effective engagement in the classroom. She also doubles as the founder of Aim Higher Africa.
38. KEHINDE JOHN OLAGBENJO
Kehinde John Olagbenjo is a youth advocate and the bestselling author of: ‘YOU DON’T HAVE TO BELIEVE IN MY DREAM’. He is also the co-author of The Land Is Green for Entrepreneurs. KJO as he is often called is the CEO of 3m Global Resources Limited and the co-founder of The Land Is Green Africa. He is the recipient of Success Digest Enterprise Awards and also the recipient of the Nigerian Entrepreneurship Recognition Awards. He is the executive producer of The Land Is Green Business Show a business programme on radio.
39. TEMITOPE SEDI
Temitope Sedi is a stunning and driven beauty entrepreneur. She is an Illumin8 and Buntricia’s Total Package trained makeup artiste and beauty consultant. She is also a youth empowerment advocate that speaks at conference and seminars. Temitope is the CEO of Seddy Makeovers and also runs a make-up academy. She has been interviewed on radio, TV and popular online platforms.
40. FUNTO IBUOYE
Funto Ibuoye is a purpose driven young woman who is passionate about helping women live their dreams and fulfil their God given assignments. The graduate of Accounting from Covenant University and a Chartered Accountant authored her first book in 2013- Beautified, every woman’s guide to true beauty, exquisite style and pure inspiration. This visionary damsel is the co- founder of LACE (Ladies After Christ’ Example)a faith based initiative for young girl. Funto is the convener of Becoming Conference for young women.
